The Slayer is one of my favorites. The key to success with him is to never, ever play him off host. He’s too dependent on shield (and health) gates for him to be viable even with the smallest bit of lag.
Shoot Phase Disruptor at the floor near enemies to stagger everything. Non-boss enemies (including Phantoms) can be staggered repeatedly. You don’t really have to use your weapon all that often.
Use Geth scanner to get the jump on Phantoms when they think you can’t see them, and biotic slash (three ranks only) to hit turrets and combat engineers through walls.
Disruptor ammo for extra shield damage + constant tech bursts.

We did on Firebase Vancouver against the Reapers. We were pretty much two-manning it because the other players kept dying and leaving the match. There was no tank, the Slayer was pretty much SLAUGHTERING everything while I kept spamming Shield Boost and Stasis’ing Phantoms and Geth Hunters.

Interesting – I’ve heard of this before and tried it with friends but we kept dying because the Slayer is pretty weak in the health department. What map were you on/was there a tank to keep aggro off you?

I was a Volus Adept and this guy was a N7 Slayer, specced and geared for maximum Phase Disruptor damage. With me following the Slayer and constantly Shield Boosting, he raped Banshees and other stuff in seconds with the Phase Disruptor spam.

I’m not a huge fan of the N7 Slayer, but that guy made me drop my jaw. Phase Disruptor is a really hard power to use unless you have perfect aim, since it doesn’t “lock” on targets like other powers (Warp/Throw/etc.)

Just sharing this tactic. The Volus is not a key-element, since the Slayer can instantly recover shields by Charging, but it helps a lot. Also, he specced his Charge for Area Damage and used Incendiary Ammo to trigger Tech Bursts. Pretty impressive.

Basically all you gotta do is stay behind walls Snap Freezing everything and detonating combos. That’s why using the “Geth Scanner” gear plays a major role here, so you can see all enemies in range and anticipate your movements and time your explosions.

It’s a pretty nice support/power oriented class that can rape hordes of enemies in a single tech combo very easily, since Snap Freeze affects ALL enemies in range.
