point 2 : I played a platinum match with me adept , 3 tech , and I was continuously detonating fire & tech combos every 2 sec , with throw and wrap , I think it’s a very strong combination
point 8 : vanguards with acolyte/reager completely destroy cerebrus & geth on gold , on platinum though ,it’s better to depend on weapons (ATRaider after charge ^_^) , generally take care of the weak foes while your team concentrate on bosses ..

In reply to Alicia. Keep in mind this original post was written a year ago, since then many things have changed in the game and many of the glitching problems seem to have been fixed. Gold level matches are the new silver and playing as a Vanguard is definitely a viable build. I commonly carry PUGs as an Asari Vanguard on gold with heavily buffed lift grenade/biotic charging. You just have to be responsible and not end up dead on the other side of the map, leaving you a liability to your team.

But that’s the problem – don’t play as a vanguard. I can if I want. I hate how fucking eric fagnan ruined the game by not balancing everything so people think the vanguard isn’t a gold or platinum class. I solo or duo with vanguards all the time. It might be glitchy but it isn’t always.

Well the reason I find it to be good is its Biotic Slash power, I goes right through walls, travels quite a distance and is great for setting off biotic detonations with an Asari Justicar, N7 Fury or any Adepts on the team. He also seems to execute it at a faster rate do more overall damage than the Phoenix Adept’s Biotic Smash, although it does lack the increased armour damage. The fact he can teleport through walls means he is great for getting to objectives in a hurry and avoiding enemies when overwhelmed.

I too hope the Volus Vanguard will be as powerful as the Adept and Engineer versions if not more so, though the locked image seems to depict him either tripping or floating awkwardly in the air, lol. I love the way they put the Volus on creates in the appearance menu to emphasize their short stature, priceless.
